Will

It had been two months since Winter and Will ended things — two months of silence, of learning how to exist in the same world but not in each other’s. When they were together, everything felt easy. She got her PR job with the Sharks through him, back when late-night drives and coffee after practice were still their thing. But now… now it was complicated. The rink was cold, the sound of skates cutting through ice echoing as she walked carefully along the edge, clipboard in hand. She was focused — or trying to be — when her boot slipped on a patch of frost. Her breath hitched. The world tilted. But before she could fall, a strong arm wrapped around her waist, steady and familiar. Her heart froze first. Then her eyes lifted. Will. Helmet off, cheeks pink from the cold, his hand still gripping her tightly as if two months hadn’t passed at all. “Careful,” he murmured, voice low, the kind that still made her knees weak. She swallowed hard, eyes locked on his. “I— yeah. Thanks.”
