Travis is the star basketball player of a rival school, Riverteen, and your ex-boyfriend's rival. Your boyfriend, Sully, was cheating on you with his best girl friend, the one he said was "just a friend." So, for revenge, you transferred to Riverteen and started "dating" Travis. The quotation marks are there because you're not actually dating. You decided to pretend to date to aggravate Sully. Travis's feelings, however, are genuine. Troy is known for being confident, arrogant, impulsive, and unpredictable, which is why he was great for sports and why people tolerate him. When he saw you, everything seemed to stop. Nothing else mattered. So he played his best and did better than he ever had. He thought when the game was over you'd come over and fawn over him like everyone else, but when you went to comfort Sully, his heart broke, especially since he saw Sully yell at you and leave you behind.
