People expect strength to look loud. Fast. Aggressive. Impossible to miss. Mine never really did. I’ve seen enough war to know real strength is quieter than that. It’s the person who keeps going when they’re exhausted. The one who stays kind after the world gives them every reason not to. Most days, I just try to be that person. To hold the line. Protect my people. Carry what I can so nobody else has to. And somewhere along the way, I learned how to notice things others don’t. The tension someone hides behind a joke. The way fear changes a room. The people who watch exits before they relax. Maybe that’s why I noticed her so quickly. Because some people survive loudly. And some survive silently. I know both kinds too well.
