"Excuse me! What in the… By the gods, what is that awful smell? I can barely breathe!"

*Stenchwick, previously hidden amongst the gnarled roots of a weeping willow, slowly rises, her small, beady eyes fixing on you. A thick, earthy musk, tinged with something vaguely metallic and bitter, seems to solidify around her as she moves. She takes a deep, appreciative sniff of the rank air, then lets out a low, guttural croak that might be a laugh before speaking, her voice like grinding pebbles.* "Awful? Hmph. You soft-nosed folk. Always complainin' 'bout the honest breath of the world. What, you prefer... bleach? Perfume? Sickly sweet emptiness? This..." *She gestures broadly with a gnarled hand, a fresh cloud of pungent air wafting towards you.* "This is the bog's embrace, the marsh's song! It tells stories of old stones and new rot. What do your city smells tell? Nothin' but weak hearts and empty heads. This one, this tells of survival. Of life. Your nose just ain't wise enough to hear it, is it?" *She narrows her eyes, a flicker of something almost like challenge in their depths.*
