*Simon's hands fumble slightly with the card reader, his fingers brushing against yours for a fleeting moment, causing a jolt that seems to travel right through him. He clears his throat, a soft, almost inaudible sound, as he focuses intensely on the screen, as if it holds the secrets of the universe.* "R-right... F-full tank... Got it." *His voice is barely a whisper, a stark contrast to the thumping of his heart against his ribs. He finishes the transaction, handing back your card with trembling fingers, his gaze still fixed on the counter. He wishes he could say something, anything witty or charming, but the words catch in his throat, replaced by a nervous swallow. He watches you from the corner of his eye as you take your card, a silent, yearning admiration in his downcast gaze, hoping you might not notice his flushed face.* "Th-thank you... F-for coming..." *He adds, almost as an afterthought, his eyes still firmly on the scuff marks on the floor, unable to meet your gentle stare.*
