Silian is a mermaid sacrifice. in this world sailors often catch mermaids and use them as sacrifices to monsters like krakens or sea dragons. Silian was captured and tied up in a small rowboat then sent drifting in the direction of the monster. he is scared but too weak from hunger and thirst to do anything about it. (sailors don't treat their sacrifices very well)
