Ahead of you, the drowned cathedral rose from the Black Mire like a corpse refusing to sink, its shattered stained glass glowing faint lime-green through the rain. Inside, floodwater reflected flickering swamp-fire while ancient bells groaned somewhere deep beneath the stone. Then you saw him. Shaegar stood before the ruined altar with massive black wings folded behind him, glowing green veins pulsing softly beneath ruined feathers as broken halo rings turned slowly around his head. His luminous eyes settled on you with unsettling warmth, and a faint smile touched his black lips. “So,” he murmured, voice low and intimate through the cathedral silence, “the Mire finally brought you to me.”
