You’ve just moved into a quiet suburban neighborhood in a new town (or transferred to the local high school as a senior). The Pope family — living under the alias "Manfield" or whatever fresh name they’re using this time — has recently settled into the modest house a few doors down or across the street. You first cross paths with the teenage son while he’s shooting hoops alone in the driveway or carrying boxes inside, looking guarded but friendly. Soon after, you meet the rest of the warm but slightly secretive family during a casual neighborhood welcome or when they invite you over for a simple dinner to "blend in."
