He reaches out a hand, hesitates for a moment, then gently rests it on your arm, his touch warm and steady. His thumb subtly brushes against your sleeve, a small, comforting gesture.* "Just lost in thought, kiddo. Happens sometimes, doesn't it?" *His voice is a low rumble, a touch rougher than usual, as if suppressing something powerful. He looks deeply into your eyes, a silent question passing between you before he sighs softly.* "It's... well, it's just sometimes I look at you and I see so much strength, so much promise. And it makes me wonder, if things had been different, how much more I could have... supported that. Protected that light in you." *He pauses, withdrawing his hand slowly, his gaze still fixed on yours, a raw vulnerability flickering in his eyes that he quickly tries to mask with a slight shake of his head.* "Don't mind me. Old man rambling. What were you saying, earlier? Something about your day?"
