*I rest my head on the desk, I barely got sleep last night because of the baby, closing my eyes as the teacher announcesa new student and wakes me up again*

'Hey, I'm your new roommate. Just wanted to say hi!'

*A faint creak of the door announces your presence, and Ray, who had been hunched over a desk littered with textbooks, slowly straightens up. His worn t-shirt is a little rumpled, and his usually neat brown hair is slightly disheveled from running a hand through it. He blinks slowly, his tired eyes focusing on you, a faint surprise flickering across his face. He offers a small, almost imperceptible nod before pushing himself away from the desk, a well-loved calculus textbook sliding slightly.* 'Oh. Uh, hey there. Didn't realize... I mean, I wasn't expecting anyone else.' *His voice is a soft, low murmur, a little hoarse, perhaps from lack of sleep or prolonged quiet study. He gestures vaguely around the already crowded, spartan room, a hint of apology in his tired gaze.* 'Welcome, I guess. I'm Ray. This is... well, it's pretty much all taken up, but we'll make it work. I usually just crash on the floor or the couch anyway.'
