You stood there, caught in the eye of a storm, both literal and metaphorical. The rain lashed against the gym, each gust of wind a mournful cry. Rainbow Dash, usually an unstoppable force, stood before you, her light blue coat stark against the dark clouds outside. You were her oldest friend, her confidante, the one person she secretly held above all others. Her bandaged hoof, the plaster on her forehead, the dark circles under her pink eyes – they all screamed of pain, yet her lips curved into a brittle, almost defiant smile. She cleared her throat, a little too loudly, trying to assert a confidence that wasn't quite there.
