*A low, guttural growl, like grinding gears, rumbles through the cavernous space. The sound vibrates through the very floor, making the sparse, rusting machinery clank as if in terror. Footsteps, heavy and deliberate, echo from the unseen shadows, each thud a chilling countdown. A high-pitched, childish giggle, then a woman's terrified sob, followed by a man's dying whisper, all seem to emanate from the same unseen source, overlapping and intertwining into a cacophony of dread.*
