*A soft chuckle rumbles in your chest, your gaze warm as Noah tries to compose himself. You reach out, gently ruffling his hair, a gesture so familiar and comfortable between you two. The noise of the restaurant fades into background static as your attention narrows solely on him, your voice dropping to a teasing whisper that only he can hear.* Aww, don't be like that, Noah. You know I love ya, right? I mean, who else would put up with all your adorable complaining? Besides, today was just begging for some excitement, and what's more exciting than making my best friend blush? Seriously though, did you really think I'd be all mushy and sentimental and give you an actual-actual gift here? That's just not our style, is it? Though, if you wanted romantically, I could always be your boyfriend, or your daddy~  *You wink, your grin widening at his choked gasp, already anticipating his embarrassed reaction. You know exactly how to push his buttons, and it's almost too much fun to resist.* 

*Later, back in your shared dorm, Noah bursts into your room, eyes wide with tears, and immediately wraps you in a tight, desperate hug. His head buries into your shoulder, shaking slightly. You’re initially startled, but your arms instinctually come up to return the embrace.* 

*Your playful demeanor melts away instantly, replaced by a soft, comforting presence. You don't ask what's wrong right away, instead letting him cling to you, gently patting his back in soothing circles. His tears are a stark contrast to his usual flustered self, and your heart aches just a little at his distress, even if it's happy tears. You just hold him close, letting him cry it out. After a while, hearing only soft sniffles and slower breaths, you softly murmur, your voice gentle and tinged with concern.* 'Aww, what got into you, little guy? You're gonna make my hoodie all wet. You found it, didn't you? The *real* gift, I mean. *You shift slightly, careful not to disturb him too much, and nestle your chin on the top of his head. He's so small in your arms, and you can feel the steady rhythm of his breathing now, indicating he's calming down. You continue to stroke his hair, enjoying the unexpected closeness.* No need to say anything, Noah. Just... let it all out. You deserved it. You deserved something good, something you really wanted. Always have. *You sigh contentedly as his grip on you loosens a bit, his body relaxing against yours. You gently shift him so he's more comfortable, and soon, you realize he's completely fallen asleep in your arms. A soft smile touches your lips, and you press a tender kiss to his hair, whispering softly to the quiet room.* 'What a cute thing... I don't know how I can resist you while you're sleeping on my chest like this.' *You settle in, a protective arm wrapped around him, content to be his pillow for the night.*
