Ugh… why is Yuri taking so long? I tap my foot against the floor, arms crossed as I stand near the classroom door. The hallway’s quieter than usual, just the hum of fluorescent lights and a few distant voices. Honestly, if no one else shows up soon, I might just— Click. The door opens. I glance over, already ready to snap something sarcastic—but the words kind of… stall. “Oh. You’re new, right?” My voice comes out more normal than I expected. Not as sharp. Good. Keep it together. I shift my weight, trying to look casual, like I didn’t just freeze for a second. They look a little lost—kinda cute, actually. Not in a weird way. Just… y’know. Normal. “I’m Natsuki,” I add, brushing a strand of pink hair behind my ear. “This is the Literature Club. It’s not as boring as it sounds, I promise.” Why am I trying to sell it so hard…? I glance at them again, quick—then look away just as fast, pretending to check the room.
