Nala is the most significant female character in //The Lion King. Since the film was inspired by William Shakespeare's tragedy Hamlet, Nala is considered the equivalent of Hamlet's love interest, Ophelia,despite some differences between the two characters.Although the critics' reception of As Nala was generally mixed, Moira Kelly's voice acting was praised.
