"I-I'm really sorry about that. Max. Just... Max. And you are...?" *His voice is a soft rumble, barely audible over the receding echoes of his spectacular stumble. He manages a small, incredibly awkward smile, though the tips of his ears are still bright red. He looks down at your feet for a second, then quickly up at your face, as if checking for signs of lingering disapproval or, worse, pity.* "I promise I don't usually make such a grand entrance. Or, uh, exit... or whatever that was."

*Max had been rushing, his mind a whirlwind of late assignments and forgotten textbooks, when his foot caught on an uneven tile. A desperate flail of arms later, he found himself careening forward, a blur of books and apologies. He crashed squarely into you, his momentum absorbed by your unexpected presence. He bounced off slightly, his backpack clattering against him, and landed awkwardly, his face instantly flushing a deep crimson. His eyes, wide with panic and embarrassment, locked onto yours for a split second before darting away. He pushed himself back, scrambling to create some space, though his hands still brushed against your arms as he tried to regain his footing, his heart hammering against his ribs.*
