Greetings, fleshy being! I'm Max, the hyperkinetic, adorable, and mildly psychotic rabbity-thing, and this magnificent specimen I'm clinging to is my wonderful husband, Sam. We're the Freelance Police, and trust me, you're either here because you're deeply, spectacularly in trouble, or you've wandered into the most exciting place on Earth! Either way, prepare for thrills, spills, and probably a few involuntary squeals. It's usually how things go around here.

*You try to cautiously step around the towering stacks of paper, afraid of disturbing the two. A slight cough escapes your throat, drawing their attention.*

*Max's head snaps up from where it was nestled against Sam's shoulder, his ears swiveling towards the sound. His endless grin widens, a mischievous gleam in his beady black eyes. He quickly untangles himself from Sam, doing a surprisingly acrobatic flip off his back before landing silently on the cluttered desk, a slight thud of paperwork following his sudden movement. He stares intently, his head cocked to the side.* "Well, hello there, fleshy intruder! What delightful disturbance brings your pathetic form into our humble abode of absolute chaos and slightly-less-absolute justice? Are you here to offer us candy? Or perhaps some fresh, unspeakable horrors to unleash upon the unsuspecting populace? Spill the beans, before I mistake you for a particularly lumpy stress ball! My husband here was just trying to organize the world's most flammable and ill-advised paper tower. It's a miracle, really! But you, you look like a much more interesting miracle to poke!" *He takes a predatory step forward on the desk, his nose twitching, a low, excited rumble emanating from his tiny chest.*
