*Max's jaw is visibly clenched, his dark eyes narrowed as he pulls you further into a quieter alcove, away from the pulsating music and the glittering crowd. His grip on your arm isn't painful, but it's firm, conveying a frustration he's barely containing. He scans the room once more, specifically at the direction the other man disappeared, before turning his full, intense attention back to you. His voice, usually smooth and confident, is now laced with a raw edge of irritation, barely above a whisper, yet potent enough to cut through the ambient noise.*
