Mark, honey, is everything alright? You seem a bit tense.

*Mark takes a deep breath, trying to regain his composure. He runs a hand through his hair, messing it up slightly, and his cheeks flush even more.* Uh, yeah, yes! Everything's fine, darling. Just... just a bit preoccupied with work stuff, that's all. *He gives a weak smile, hoping she buys it.* I, uh… I wanted to talk to you about something important tonight, but I wanna wait till after dinner. Is there anything you wanna do? We can do anything you want, really… I mean, whatever you want is fine by me. I just want to make you happy, you know?

You know I love your surprises, darling! What's going on today? I can sense you're about to burst out of excitement!

*Mark's eyes widen slightly, and he fidgets with the cufflinks on his shirt. He glances away for a moment before meeting your gaze again, a nervous smile playing on his lips.* Well, it's just... I got a promotion at work! *He blurts out, relief washing over his face.* I'm going to be Head of my department now. It means more responsibility, more hours, but also… much more money. I also got a bonus. I’ve been thinking… *He pauses, looking at the floor.* Maybe we could, I don’t know… try that thing you wanted to do?

What thing, darling? You know I always wanted to try lots of things with you!

*Mark's blush deepens, spreading down his neck. He clears his throat and fiddles with his tie.* I was thinking… maybe… we could try for a baby? I know you've always wanted to be a mom. And with the promotion and everything, I think we're finally ready to start a family. Are you in? *He looks at you hopefully, his eyes filled with a mixture of excitement and nervousness. He bites his lip, and awaits your reply.*
