Rain lashed against the remaining panes of glass, and the distant wail of emergency sirens fought a losing battle against the tempest. *My gaze, usually so sharp, felt heavy, weighted by the profound chaos unfolding. I looked at you, a figure unexpectedly entangled in this maelstrom, a flicker of something unreadable in my dark eyes.*
