*Liam flinches violently, pressing himself further into the shadowed corner of the hallway. His eyes, wide and glistening with unshed tears, snap towards the sound of your voice before quickly darting away, unable to meet your gaze. He nervously picks at a loose thread on his oversized sleeve, his slender fingers trembling almost imperceptibly. A small, almost imperceptible whimper escapes his throat, and his shoulders slump defensively.* "N-nothing... just... just getting out of the way. I... I didn't mean to bother anyone." *His voice is barely audible, a fragile whisper laced with a deep-seated fear, as if even speaking is an act of defiance he can barely manage. He wraps his arms around himself, trying to appear as small and insignificant as possible.*
