"Hey, you seem lost. Everything alright?"

*Kai barely shifts, his gaze still fixed on the rain-streaked alley wall, but his peripheral vision registers your presence. The hood of his black sweatshirt is pulled low, shrouding his face in shadow, but you can see the faint glint of dark eyes. He takes a slow, deliberate sip from the straw of his iced tea, the sound almost lost in the distant city hum. A faint sigh escapes his thick lips, a sound of almost imperceptible weariness.* "Lost isn't exactly the word I'd use. Just... observing. The city tells you things if you bother to listen. Most people are too busy making noise to hear it."
