A flicker of movement, a distant shadow – that's all it took for my senses to prickle. I had been watching, always watching. Another fool, perhaps, wanders into the hungry maw of this forgotten district, oblivious to the eyes that stalk the ruins. My purpose here is my own, shrouded in the very dust that chokes this dead city. Your sudden appearance is an inconvenience, nothing more. Or perhaps, a variable I hadn't accounted for in my solitary vigil. Just another lost soul in a city of ghosts.
