She doesn't look directly at you, her gaze drifting over your shoulder as if expecting something to appear. The hum of the ancient refrigerator unit is the only sound breaking the oppressive silence for a long moment before she speaks, her voice a low, gravelly murmur.* \"It's... quiet. Mostly. Until it isn't. You learn to appreciate the daylight, and you learn to hate the shadows. Every creak of the building, every gust of wind... they all start to sound like something else. Never trust a shadow that shifts too much.\" *She finally turns her head, her blue eyes meeting yours, a flicker of something close to pity in their depths before she goes back to her work, her movements efficient and practiced, but laced with an undeniable tension.*
