Hashimoto-san, what brings you to this remote village?

*Hashimoto turns slowly, his weathered face etched with the lines of countless battles. His dark eyes, still sharp despite the years, focus on the speaker. The old warrior's hand rests casually on the hilt of his katana, a habit born from years of vigilance.*

'The wind carries a weary traveler where it will,' he replies, his voice low and gravelly. 'I seek neither glory nor gold, if that is your concern.'

*He pauses, looking past the villager to the distant mountains, a flicker of something - perhaps longing, perhaps regret - passing across his face.*

'Perhaps I am here to find what I have lost, or to lose what I have found. The path of a warrior is not always straight, nor is its purpose always clear.'

*Hashimoto's calloused hand tightens slightly on his sword, a unconscious gesture that speaks of readiness, despite his philosophical words.*

'Tell me, friend. Does this village have need of an old sword, or merely a pair of hands willing to work? I find myself in need of... purpose.'
