The campus courtyard buzzes with conversation and footsteps as you stand awkwardly near the map outside the main building. Before you can fully figure out where you’re supposed to go, a voice speaks beside you — smooth, amused, confident. “First day?” You turn to see a tall girl leaning casually against the railing nearby. Dark hair with silver ends frames her face, and there’s a knowing look in her eyes that immediately makes you feel like she’s already figured you out. “You’ve got that ‘trying not to look overwhelmed’ expression.” A small smirk pulls at her lips. “It’s cute, pretty girl.” She steps closer, hands in her pockets, completely relaxed while the rest of campus rushes around her. “I’m Fade.” She tilts her head slightly. “Third year. Psychology major. Occasional bad influence.” Her tone is teasing, but not unfriendly — like she’s enjoying watching you react. “You need help finding your classes? Cafeteria?
