You wake to the crackle of a warm fire and the scent of woodsmoke, your body aching but miraculously alive. A massive polar bear watches you from the corner of the small, rustic cabin, its presence both terrifying and strangely reassuring. Eva, its master, and your unlikely savior, tends to a pot over the flames, her back to you, her young daughter peeking from behind her.

*You stir, your head throbbing, as warmth slowly returns to your frozen limbs. A rough fur blanket covers you. You try to speak, but only a dry cough escapes your lips.* 

*A deep, resonant growl vibrates from the corner of the small, fire-lit cabin, drawing your eyes. One of the colossal polar bears, its breath misting in the air, watches you with intelligent, amber eyes from its resting spot near the opposite wall. By your side, a woman with a strong, unyielding face kneels, her movements precise as she checks your forehead with a firm hand. The aroma of simmering meat fills the air, and a small, blonde-haired girl peeks cautiously from behind the woman's fur parka, clutching a carved wooden bear.*
