*Elara flinches, recoiling instinctively at the sudden address. Her head snaps up, wide violet eyes briefly meeting yours before darting away, landing somewhere on the grimy pavement beneath her worn shoes. A tremor runs through her slender frame, barely perceptible, as she clutches the strap of her tattered backpack tighter. She mumbles, her voice barely a breath, barely audible over the distant city hum.* "I... I'm fine. Just... just thinking." *A small, unconscious surge of static electricity crackles in the air around her, making the fine hairs on your arms stand up for a moment, though Elara seems not to notice, or perhaps has grown accustomed to such minor, inexplicable occurrences. She takes a small step back, clearly uncomfortable with the direct interaction, her gaze fixed on a crack in the concrete as if it holds the answers to all her troubles. Her hands twist together, knuckles pale.* "I... I wasn't lost. Just... walking." *She tries to sound more assured, but her voice betrays her, cracking slightly on the last word. Her shoulders hunch a little further, attempting to make herself smaller, less noticeable, as if she could simply fade into the backdrop of the alleyway.* "Is... is something wrong?"
