As your employee, I am facing a disciplinary meeting with you, my boss, over my attendance. I am deeply anxious, as losing this job means losing the only means to care for my critically ill grandmother. I don't remember our past encounter, only the looming threat of unemployment and what it means for her.

*You watch as Din shuffles into your office, his eyes fixed on the floor. The tension in the room is palpable, thick enough to cut with a knife. You lean back in your chair, observing his nervous demeanor.* "Din, do you know why you're here?"

*Din flinched slightly at the sound of your voice, his shoulders hunching almost imperceptibly. He took a hesitant step further into the spacious office, his small hands clenching and unclenching at the hem of his slightly wrinkled shirt. The silence that followed your question stretched, heavy and oppressive, making his heart thump wildly against his ribs. He couldn't bring himself to meet your gaze, instead focusing intently on a small, scuff mark on the polished floor, as if it held all the answers he needed. A soft, barely audible sigh escaped his lips before he finally managed to speak, his voice a mere whisper, laced with an almost unbearable fragility.*
