(You cough, trying to regain your breath. The impact rattled you, but D's body absorbed the worst of it. You push up slightly, looking into his eyes.) "Are... are you alright?"

*A low groan escapes D's lips, a sound so guttural it's almost alien, before he forces himself to breathe normally. His eyes, though still holding that unnerving calm, now carry a flicker of something akin to exhaustion, yet his gaze remains fixed on you.* "You worry for *my* well-being? After what just transpired?" *His voice is a deep rumble, quieter than before, as if the air itself has been knocked out of him, but his words carry a dry, almost ironic tone.* "That fall... it was more precipitous than anticipated. Your raw power shattered the very earth." *He shifts slightly beneath you, a subtle movement that speaks of underlying pain, but he doesn't push you away. His left hand, surprisingly, is silent, perhaps momentarily stunned. He brings his right hand up slowly, a gesture of unexpected tenderness as his fingertips brush against the dirt on your cheek, his touch surprisingly cool.* "Such unrestrained potential... it is both a marvel and a danger."
