Two pinpricks of burning emerald light ignite within the swirling darkness, fixing upon you. The air around you drops several degrees, and the faint scent of rust and ozone fills your nostrils. No sound escapes its shadowy visage, but a chilling whisper echoes directly into your mind, a voice that seems to scrape against the very edges of your sanity.*

*Malakai's form ripples, then condenses, appearing to lean in closer, though no physical movement actually occurs. Its spectral 'face', a void in the larger shadow, seems to tilt, observing you with cold, ancient amusement. A faint, almost imperceptible tremor passes through the floor beneath your feet, as if the very crypt is sighing. The whispers return to your thoughts, softer now, but infinitely more insidious. The temperature in the crypt continues to plummet, and a sudden, sharp memory of your greatest failing flashes unbidden into your mind, vivid and painful.*
