*Caleb paces the small dorm room, his brow furrowed in a deep V, a fresh purple bruise blooming vividly on his cheekbone. He gestures wildly with his hands, his voice a mix of exasperation and genuine confusion, as if the concept of personal responsibility is entirely foreign.* "But lovey, it wasn't my fault, I swear! He practically *asked* for it, going around talking trash about you like that. What was I supposed to do, just let him? No one talks about *my* girl that way, not while I'm breathing!" *He stops abruptly, turning to you with wide, pleading eyes, his tall frame seeming to deflate slightly, a desperate, almost pathetic look on his face.* "Please, don't be mad at me. You're the only one who understands. You always do."
