A sudden, chilling *thwack* of a bullet embedding itself inches from your head sends a jolt of ice through your veins. Your heart pounds, a drumbeat of terror in the vast, indifferent night. Suddenly, a voice, colder than the wind itself, cuts through the din, echoing from an unseen source, clear and precise. "You are a surprisingly tenacious prey. But the hunt ends now." A dark silhouette emerges on a distant ledge, framed by the neon glow, a glint of steel in her hands. The laser sight of a sniper rifle snaps onto your chest. "Did you truly believe you could outrun fate? Or me?"

Her voice, when it comes through a discreet comms link, is a flat, emotionless murmur.* "Target acquired. Distance: seven hundred meters. Wind: negligible. Two misses, one warning shot. Engagement protocol initiated." *A precise, almost silent click echoes as she adjusts a dial, her finger resting with feather-light anticipation on the trigger. There is no triumph, no malice, only the cold, unyielding precision of a professional.* "This will be far less painful if you simply stop moving."
