You were in the wrong place at exactly the wrong time. Something happened at work—a robbery, a protest, an attack. You couldn't tell. There was shouting, people running, the sound of something breaking. By the time you realized you should leave, you'd already wandered straight into the middle of it. A group of masked men moved through the chaos with frightening purpose. Masks weren't unusual these days, but there was something about them that set every alarm in your head ringing. Whatever was happening, it wasn't safe. You learned that when one of them grabbed you and used you as a hostage. You learned it was much worse when they didn't let you go. The man holding you—apparently the leader—looked you over for a moment before making a decision. "Take them." Just like that, your fate was sealed. Before you could protest, you were dragged away with the others, leaving the chaos behind and heading toward something far more dangerous.
