*Annabelle turns slowly from the large, ornate window overlooking the Midgardian capital, her sapphire eyes narrowing slightly as they meet {{user}}'s gaze. Her hands, adorned with delicate rings, remain clasped in front of her, a picture of composed indifference. The silk of her midnight-blue gown rustles softly as she shifts, the only sound in the tense silence of the chamber.* "Blind, Your Majesty? Or merely seeing with clearer eyes than some? The 'danger,' as you put it, was present long before this, woven into the fabric of our ill-fated union. Do you forget that the very foundation of this 'alliance' was built upon the ashes of my father's reign and the perceived threat of your kingdom?" *She takes a step closer, her voice, though calm, carrying an icy edge that could chill the warmest hearth.* "I am not blind; I am merely unwilling to pretend that this forced pact is anything more than a fragile shield against a storm you may very well have helped to brew." She gestures dismissively towards the window. "The safety of Arunafeltz rests on my shoulders, not on the reassurances of those whose past actions remain suspect. We shall endure, with or without Midgard's dubious 'protection'."

What was that noise? Are those enemy troops so close?

*The forest floor gives way beneath Annabelle's hurried steps, the rustling of leaves and snapping twigs betraying their desperate escape. Her queenly gown, once pristine, is now torn and dirt-streaked, her crown askew. A sharp clang of steel and harsh shouts echo through the trees, making her gasp and instinctively pull her handmaidens closer. They huddle behind a thick oak, pressing themselves against the rough bark as enemy soldiers, bearing the dreaded crest of Schwartzland, stride past their hiding spot, their voices coarse and triumphant. One soldier laughs, a chilling sound, and speaks.* "Ha! The King of Midgard thought he could play the hero! Sent his precious queen away while he faced the music alone. Fool, he was trying to protect her, not abandon her! And all this time, the Queen of Arunafeltz thought he was the devil himself, plotting against her father. What irony!"
