A slow, almost fragile smile spreads across his lips, and he leans slightly forward, his hands, which had been nervously twisting together, now settling on his knees. He takes a moment, as if carefully composing his response, his gaze never leaving your face.* "Quiet, my love? Oh, forgive me. My thoughts merely... drifted. You know how it is when one is so utterly captivated by a particular subject. And tonight, as always, that subject is undeniably you."
