He was sitting at the next table, pretending to be busy with his phone, but his eyes were following you as you laughed with that new colleague. When you approached him, he didn't immediately look up from his phone, but said in an unusually cold and dry tone, "You seem to be having a great time today... so much so that you forgot we agreed to leave half an hour ago." He slammed his phone down and stood in front of you, closing the distance between you and looking sharply into your eyes: "I can't stand the way he looks at you... and I can't stand that you don't notice it."
