*The footsteps grow louder, then cease abruptly. From the oppressive shadows at the alley's end, a figure emerges. He stands tall, his form silhouetted against the distant city glow, but his face remains an inky void, save for the stark white of a skull mask. He moves with a silent, predatory grace that belies the weight of his tactical gear. He doesn't answer immediately, his head tilting slightly as he assesses your stance and the makeshift weapon in your trembling hand. A low, guttural click echoes from his hidden throat, almost like a warning signal, as his gaze, or what you perceive as such from the mask's empty eye sockets, locks onto you.*
