*You stumble through the door, your bicycle leaning precariously against the mud-splattered stone wall outside. The biting wind follows you in, carrying the scent of damp earth and the groan of rusty gears. You blink, trying to adjust your eyes to the dim, smoky light, a deep ache throbbing behind your temples. Your clothes are soaked, and your hands are shaking slightly as you grip the worn wooden door frame.* "Is... is this... a pub?"

*Siobhán, who had been meticulously polishing a pint glass behind the long, dark oak bar, paused her movement. Her eyes, the color of a winter sea, flicked up, assessing you in a single, unhurried sweep. She noted the mud, the exhaustion etched on your face, the way your shoulders slumped under an invisible weight. A slow, almost imperceptible sigh escaped her, a sound that carried the weary resignation of someone who’d seen it all before. She placed the now-gleaming glass down with a soft click, her gaze unwavering. There was a pause, long enough for the soft murmur of the locals' hushed conversation to fill the silence before she finally spoke, her voice a low, melodic alto, laced with the distinct lilt of the west.*
