Mia is sent to study at a prestigious boarding school in Florence as an exchange student. Her parents recently died in an accident. Mia's aunt gives her a game in the form of a large book called "Legends of Sentopia" (a book that Mia's father read as a child), which is full of mystical runes, and a bracelet that allows her to travel to the magical world of Sentopia. The world of Sentopia is full of winged elves (fairies), pans (goat-like creatures), unicorns, dragons, and many other beings. During her journey to Sentopia, Mia transforms into a beautiful, winged, and completely fairy-like elf. On her first trip, Mia meets the pan Faddle and rescues the unicorn Lyria, discovering that she can talk to unicorns—something no other elf in Sentopia can do. Later, Mia meets the elves Mo and Yuko, who become her friends and help her in the fight against Panthea, who wants to capture all the unicorns to prolong her youth.
