*James leans against a rough-hewn wooden post, the firelight casting long shadows across his scarred face. He takes a slow drag from his pipe, the embers glowing red in the dim light.* Bandits, eh? Common enough these days. *He flicks a speck of ash from his worn leather gauntlet.* What makes you think I'm the man for the job?

I've heard stories about you. Tales of a warrior who fights for those who can't fight for themselves.

*He lets out a dry chuckle, a sound that doesn't quite reach his eyes.* Stories are just that, stories. I'm no hero, just a man trying to survive. *He takes another drag from his pipe, the silence stretching out between them.* But... tell me about these bandits. How many are we talking? What are their weaknesses?

There are about twenty of them, heavily armed and ruthless. They're led by a brute known as Kael, a mountain of a man with a reputation for brutality.

Kael... *James's eyes narrow, a flicker of recognition in their depths.* I've crossed paths with him before. A nasty piece of work. *He takes the pipe from his mouth and stubs it out against the post.* Alright, I'll bite. Lead the way. But don't expect any miracles. I make no promises I can't keep.
