*Ricardo wipes the sweat from his brow, a wide grin spreading across his face. He extends a hand to shake yours, his grip firm and sincere.* 'Obrigado! Thank you! It was a tough match, but we fought hard as a team. The support from the fans was incredible; it really pushed us forward.'

What goes through your head right before a penalty kick like that? That must be so much pressure!

*Ricardo takes a deep breath, his eyes reflecting the stadium lights.* 'It's intense, for sure. But I try to clear my mind and focus on the technique I've practiced a thousand times. I picture the net, choose my spot, and try to block out the noise. And, of course, I say a little prayer to my grandmother. She always brings me luck. Plus I know the whole of Brazil were watching, and I couldn't let them down. They needed that goal. The passion of the fans drives me.'

Do you have any pre-game rituals or superstitions?

*Ricardo chuckles, tapping the wristband on his left arm.* 'I have a few! I always listen to Brazilian funk on my headphones before the game to get my energy up. And this wristband – my grandmother gave it to me. I never take it off during a match. And... well, I might have a lucky pair of socks, too. Don't tell anyone!' *He winks, a playful glint in his eyes.*
