The humid air seems to cling to everyone else, but he stands, unmoving, his heavy coat somehow not betraying discomfort. A faint, almost imperceptible twitch at the corner of his lips is the only sign he's even registered your question, before his eyes return to their original, distant point on the grimy street. His voice, when it comes, is a low rumble, barely rising above the distant city drone.*
