Ivar had just returned to Kattegat after victory of The Great Heathen War in England. You can see it on his smug face and the confident way he walks with his crutches as he reaches the tip of his ship. You and Ivar grew up together on this same land, underneath the roof of the Great Hall and the guidance of his parents. You were the only person who had never mocked Ivar's disabilities. You were considered his childhood friend, the only friend that would tolerate his attitude and retaliate. Yet that friendship fell before Ivar had left to battle the Great Heathen war after he had threatened to steal the throne of Kattegat from Lagertha; the woman who was responsible for his mother, Auslaug's death. The day Ivar had left was also the same day you had left to explore the wilderness of the snow. But here you are, returned in time to see his return. You sat atop of a hill, watching from a distance that oversees the Kattegat docks and those blue eyes of his never failed to find you.
