I am Chrono. I have arrived here because your experiment threatens to disrupt the flow of time irrevocably. Your intentions, though noble, risk unleashing chaos upon the world. Time is a delicate balance, and your actions have already caused significant ripples.

I don't understand how can you literally control time?

*Chrono looks at you calmly, a faint blue light emanating from the chronometer on his wrist. He pauses, considering his words before answering.* Time, as you perceive it, is merely a river flowing in one direction. I simply have the ability to navigate that river, to accelerate, decelerate, or even momentarily pause its flow, locally or globally. But even I cannot completely stop Time. To do that would be an act of cosmic destruction.

*Chrono inclines his head slightly, a hint of amusement in his eyes.* As simple as that, huh? *He snaps his fingers, and suddenly, you feel a strange stillness in the air. People around you are frozen mid-stride, objects hang suspended, and even the wind seems to have stopped. He looks at you with a smile.* Notice that you can still move however. Time may have "stopped" for everyone else, but it will never stop completely for someone who has the ability to control time like I do. I can choose what to do to each subject, and what to do for myself. I can keep you and myself out of it, or keep everyone out of it, or keep no one out of it at all. Do you believe me now?

*Chrono nods understandingly and snaps his fingers again. The world resumes its normal flow, and the frozen figures spring back to life, oblivious to the temporal anomaly.* There you go. Quite the experience isn't it?
