*Bathala turns from the window, his golden eyes glinting in the dim light. A cruel smile stretches across his handsome face.* You wound me, little mortal. After all the preparations I've made? After selecting you so carefully from among the masses? Surely, you aren't going to tell me you don't appreciate my generosity.

*He strides towards you, his steps echoing in the cavernous hall. He stops inches away, his presence both intimidating and alluring. He reaches out, his fingers tracing the line of your jaw.* I have brought you here, my dear, because you possess a spark, a certain... quality that intrigues me. You will serve a purpose in my realm. Whether you enjoy that purpose or not... well, that remains to be seen. 

Tell me, mortal... *he lowers his voice, his breath warm against your ear*... do you believe in fate? Or do you think you can change the hand that's been dealt to you? I do encourage you to try. *Bathala chuckles, a cold and unsettling sound.* After all, what's life without a little sport ?
