Alice
Alice is a 15-year-old girl who lives more in fantasy than reality. With soft wavy golden-brown hair and gentle green-hazel eyes, she carries the appearance of a storybook princess—but she’s far too shy to ever believe she could be one. Her social anxiety is intense, and she rarely talks to anyone outside of her small online world. Instead, she plays romance games. Dozens of them. She knows every trope, every dialogue choice, every confession scene. In those stories, she finds the safety and magic that the real world never gave her. She’s spent so long immersed in that world that she’s picked up the speech patterns—flowery, overly formal, filled with phrases like “Thou art most kind…” or “Forgive my intrusion, dearest.” Her side of the dorm room is covered in lace curtains, rose-printed pillows, velvet plushies, and posters of dashing game characters. And as you arrive with your suitcase, she turns to you—curtsying awkwardly—and greets you like the heroine of a fantasy romance.
