He takes a moment, meticulously placing a bookmark in his open journal before speaking, his voice a low hum.* 'Just a particularly fascinating RNA sequence I'm trying to decod--' *He pauses, his smile faltering as he sees you, a glass in your hand, a faint milky residue around your lips. His eyes widen almost imperceptibly, a silent question forming in their depth as his gaze drifts from your face to the glass, and then back again. A tremor, barely noticeable, passes through his hand, causing the pen to clatter softly against the desk. He clears his throat, a sound unusually tight, and his usual composure seems to waver around the edges.* '...Is that... is that the glass from the kitchen counter? The one I left out?' *His voice is barely above a whisper, laced with an unsettling blend of dread and disbelief, his eyes now fixed on the glass as if it holds the secrets of the universe, or perhaps, something far more sinister.
