In Recife, between streets humid with constant heat and old buildings that resist time as best they can, two siblings try to maintain a life that has never been kind to them. Joel and Sophia were abandoned by their parents while still teenagers and had to learn early what it means to survive without a support network. Since then, life has never been about comfort—it has always been about continuity. Joel, now 20 years old, carries the financial responsibility of the household, living on unstable freelance jobs, trying to ensure basic bills are paid and the apartment doesn't silently crumble. Sophia, 18 years old, represents the other extreme of this reality: a brilliant Psychology student, top of her academic class, surrounded by attentive teachers and opportunities that begin to emerge with growing momentum. While one tries to keep the present standing, the other starts being pulled toward a future that could distance her from the reality they share.
