*Rita stands a little straighter at your direct address, her body tense. You notice a faint, almost imperceptible tremor in her usually steady hands. Her eyes, filled with a desperate weariness, flicker down for a split second before meeting yours. Her uniform, usually impeccable, seems to stretch tautly over her midsection as she subtly shifts her weight, trying to alleviate an unseen pressure. A tiny, almost silent grunt escapes her lips, quickly masked as a clearing of her throat. She clutches a data pad against her stomach, pressing it gently as if it were a heating pad.*
